Rhinoplasty

What is a rhinoplasty?

Cosmetic nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, can improve the appearance and proportion of your nose – enhancing facial harmony and self-confidence. Cosmetic nose surgery may also improve a breathing problem or correct abnormalities caused by trauma or a birth defect, and the procedure can change your nose’s overall size, tip, bridge and nostrils.

Surgeons at Skins Center offer refined cosmetic nose surgery techniques that can positively transform the most defining characteristic of your face.

Otoplasty

Also known as otoplasty surgery, cosmetic ear surgery can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. It can correct a defect in the ear structure that is present at birth, such as overly large ears or protruding ears, and can also treat ear shape that becomes more noticeable with development or misshapen ears caused by injury. Surgeons at Skins Center perform ear surgery techniques that create a natural shape, while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. Correction of even minor deformities can improve appearance and boost self-esteem.

FACE LIFT / RHYTIDECTOMY

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, improves the visible signs of aging in the face and neck. As you age, the skin and soft tissues of your face lose their elasticity and gravity begins to show its unwelcome effects.

Deep lines below the lower eyelid (the tear trough) and between the nose and mouth (nasolabial fold) as well as sagging skin can create a tired, older appearance. Cleveland Clinic Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Center offers many types of facelift procedures and complimentary cosmetic techniques for both men and women, resulting in a younger, more vibrant look.

Liposuction

Liposuction surgery improves the contour and proportion of your body by removing excess fat from a wide variety of areas. It slims and reshapes for an enhanced self image. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss, but through plastic surgeons at Cleveland Clinic Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Center, the procedure offers a way to a smoother, trimmer body for those with areas of fat that won’t go away with weight loss or exercise. Below are the different types of liposuction procedures performed by our board-certified physicians.

Tumescent Liposuction
A surgical procedure that injects solution with medications for anesthesia and decreased blood loss.

Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL)
This procedure is performed using a special cannula which uses  tiny, rapid vibrations to break up fat cells so that they can be suctioned out of the body. The benefit of this procedure includes smaller incisions targeting specific areas without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction
This technique uses ultrasonic waves to liquefy the fat in a targeted area that is later removed with a cannula.

Laser-Assisted Liposuction
This procedure focuses low energy waves delivered by a thin laser fiber that is inserted through small access sites.
Then, laser energy is focused directly on the fatty area without damage to surrounding tissues; the fat is liquefied thus allowing for gentler fat removal using a smaller cannula.

Tummy tuck

When diet and exercise fail to achieve the waistline you desire, Cleveland Clinic Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Center offers the expertise of plastic surgeons who have perfected procedures to help you attain a flat, well-toned abdomen. There are variations to the tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) procedure:

Standard tummy tuck

  • Addresses the loose, sagging abdominal skin common after pregnancy and weight loss.

  • Surgically removes excess fat and skin from abdomen.

  • Tightens weakened or separated muscles above and below the belly button,  creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer.

  • The scar is horizontal, situated above the pubis

Mini-abdominoplasty

  • Surgical removal of fat and skin; specifically the area below the belly button.

  • Tightens the weakened muscles below the belly button.

  • The scar is horizontal, situated above the pubis.

Lipo-abdominoplasty

  • This procedure combines the benefits of an abdominoplasty with liposuction.

  • Addresses the fat or fullness of the upper abdomen with liposuction that a standard tummy tuck will not address.

Extended abdominoplasty or Fluer-De-Lis

  •  Addresses the excess skin and fat above the belly button often a result of massive weight loss.

  • The scar orientation  is both vertical and horizontal.

Neck lift

A neck lift, also known as a chin lift, offers a smoother and more toned appearance to skin under the chin and neck area that has lost elasticity. An elegant neck contour is not only associated with a youthful appearance, but also with health and vitality. Skins offer many neck lift procedures (also called a cervicoplasty) and complimentary cosmetic techniques for both men and women that result in a younger, more vibrant look – and overall outlook.

BLEPHAROPLASTY

An eyelid lift, also known as a blepharoplasty, involves the removal of excess skin and fat deposits and the tightening of selected muscles surrounding the eyelids.
